Report: 2020 NFL Draft Mock Test Suffered Technical Glitch on Bengals' 1st Pick

Just a few days away from the start of the 2020 NFL draft, the league is still having technical problems with the virtual format.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the NFL held a mock draft Monday afternoon to prepare for Thursday's first round, but it didn't go as planned.

"Mock draft today already technical glitch w Cincinnatis 1st pick!!! Brutal," one participant texted Schefter.

According to Dianna Russini of ESPN, multiple coaches and general managers said there is a problem with bandwidth, leading to communication issues.

The NFL announced earlier this month the draft would be held virtually instead of the originally scheduled location of Las Vegas because of the coronavirus pandemic, with executives forced to make decisions from their home offices.

Peter King of NBC Sports reported some specifics, including that Commissioner Roger Goodell would announce the first-round picks from his home. Front-office personnel will connect through a Microsoft Teams private and encrypted draft channel, while 58 draft prospects will have in-home cameras.

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch showcased his impressive setup Monday:

My at-home war room is almost like I’m at the @SAPSports Performance Facility. Thanks to our IT and video teams + our scouts and coaches we’re ready for the #NFLDraft this week. #IGYB

However, this could be moot if the league doesn't have enough bandwidth to keep everyone connected and in communication during the draft.
