I think he could draft a kicker because a) it would be the cheaper long term option and b) the drafted kid might be better than either guy they signed.
Just because Snead signed two guys doesn't mean he's high on them. It just means he needed a kicker and they were sitting there. If he was high on either one of them, he wouldn't have signed the second one and made it clear that they would compete for the job. He's hoping..... and that's all.
