Because the northern hemisphere is largely speaking coming our of winter and the southern hemisphere largely speaking going into winter, we can now gauge seasonally spread diseases much more quickly.
Plus, obviously the closer you get to the equator the less seasonal aspects matter.
They haven't seen this virus die in the winter, or the summer or a mild fall afternoon.
There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
