how do deer, antelope, and other forms of wildlife develop mass vaccinations?
Not sure how that's relevant. But, if there were a global pandemic among deer etc, then many would die, before the surviving population became naturally immune.
We know what the science is saying about humans and covid-19.
If you try to hold out for natural immunity with this, the death toll would be high.
To achieve what medical people call herd immunity with covid-19 without going through a high death toll, a vaccination is necessary.
Here's some medical definitions of herd immunity.
They cut through the common misunderstanding that herd immunity only arises through natural immunity:
I stopped at 5 examples. There's plenty more.

Measles, mumps, polio, and chickenpox are examples of infectious diseases that were once very common but are now rare in the U.S. because vaccines helped to establish herd immunity.

Herd immunity can slow the spread of a contagious virus. Herd immunity can be alternatively achieved by vaccinating people if there is an available vaccine (or vaccines).

We can increase that number by vaccinating, because vaccination makes people immune to infection, but it also stops infected people passing on the disease to everyone that they otherwise would. If we can get enough people immune to the disease, then it will stop spreading in the population. And that's herd immunity, in a nutshell.

When enough people in a community are vaccinated against a disease, this can make it more difficult for the disease to spread to susceptible individuals who have not yet been or cannot be vaccinated. This, the NHS outlines, is called “herd immunity”.

Herd immunity is the only way the coronavirus pandemic will end — and it would require a vaccine.Herd immunity is likely the only way to end the coronavirus pandemic. It happens when enough of the population becomes immune to the virus, either through vaccination or infection. Pursuing herd immunity by allowing the virus to spread, rather than through a vaccine, would lead to hundreds of thousands more deaths. Plus, some evidence indicates that a recovered person's immunity [to covid-19] may not be permanent.
