You can quote articles all you want. The simple truth and my point is that herd immunity occurs in nature WITHOUT a vaccine even with humans. So a vaccine is a way but not the only way to make humans immune. Look up the West Nile virus.
You are arguing with some imaginary person who
denied herd immunity can be gained through natural immunity, ie. a population getting infected to the point where the recovered survivors are a high enough percentage so that the virus can't be transmitted.
No one said that. You are arguing with no one.
Here's the ACTUAL argument. Herd immunity is achieved in 2 ways. 1 is natural immunity, the other is through vaccination.
The problem with covid-19 is that if you just allowed natural immunity to happen (assuming it can--they actually don't know that with this virus)
A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE WOULD DIE.The myth ALL sources reject, not just the ones I quoted, is that NATURAL immunity is the ONLY way to achieve HERD immunity. And no that is not true. Herd immunity can be achieved 2 ways. Though as I pointed out, the natural immunity process does not always work. It didn't with Spanish Flu. The Spanish Flu lasted for 3 years. It most likely went away because it simply mutated into something more benign.
