Here’s my 2 cents, fwiw.
I make it 75% likely that Snead trades down at least once on Day 2, probably twice depending on who’s falling and whether he can find a partner. He’s probably got several ‘what if’ handshake agreements in place already. Heck, I’d be surprised if he didn’t.
Handicapping just which positions are probably targeted is a fool’s errand but since it’s down to 9 days to draft and I’m feeling frisky, here goes...
Whether Snead trades down or not, I see Rams interest in the following positions although the exact order of priority is unknowable and will shift with any trade or pick, anyway:
RB
C
OG (maybe)
Edge (Floyd is on a 1 year contract and the other side is unproven, although there are some promising candidates)
ILB (the true Littleton replacement OR an ILB more to Staley’s liking, rather than a true Littleton clone. I, too, suspect that they like Kiser as their 2-down IL
Those are my 5 ‘most likely’ position targets for Day 2. I predict that 4 of those 5 positions will be picked on Day 2, with or without a trade down. But nobody should be stunned if the following positions get picked:
CB
FS
OT
Backup QB
These last 4 probably occur only if a stud unexpectedly falls Into their lap and are far more likely after trade down(s). Otherwise they’re more likely Day 3 picks, IMO.
That’s a helluva lot for 2 cents, huh? Don’t spend it all in one place. Lol.
