I think Alyo likes Gibson alot more then I do. He isn't a RB as much as he is a chess piece. He had literally 33 carries in college. He is built like a RB, has the size, vision and wiggle of a RB, but did almost all of his work as a WR. We have no idea if he can pass protect and we also have no idea if he can run between the tackles. We also have no idea if he has the patience to run behind a OZS offense. So he has a learning curve to be a NFL RB. So what do you do with him? Especially since he will have no OTAs or rookie camps. He'll be lucky to get a full training camp.
He is an absolute HR waiting to happen and a smart OC will figure out to get the most of him, esp. since his size/speed/power is so rare. But it is going to take a minute.
Love Darrynton Evans - Showed up at the combine at 203 lbs, which is what App. State claimed he was, so he's a legit 4.4 guy that caught 21 balls and ran for 1400 yards. He also returned kicks, so some added value there. He has an incredibly oily lower half. His sidesteps, or jump cuts or lateral cuts are crazy. he has HR speed, and good contact balance. His issue is he has a narrow frame. He is never going to be much more then 205 lbs. Maybe 210, so that limits his inside run game. If you can grab him in the middle of day 3, Im all over it.
Gibson is my #9 RB and Evans is my #11 RB.
And that will be my final ranking, because there are no pro days, Im finishing my draft work.
