First, he was a track star in HS, so it was no shock to anyone in Taylor's orbit that he would run fast. I think they are worried about: 1. The amount of touches he's had, backs have a finite amount of carries in their body and Taylor has a bunch. 2. His lack of pass catches. he showed he can do it, but the NFL likes to see it in actual games, and Taylor doesn't have many. 3. I don't think the NFL thinks he is as dynamic of a runner as Dobbins and Swift.
I think he can catch the football, I also am not worried about his touches, because frankly I am drafting a RB for 4 years and then repeat the process. No second contracts on worn out bodies for me. lastly, he has elite vision, plenty of wiggle and can hit a HR from anywhere on the field. All inside the body of a 225 lb back.
So yeah, he may be gone, but maybe he isn't. Its what makes the draft exciting.
