I read the whole thread as of the time of this posting. Lots of interesing thoughts and observations.

My 2 cents.

1. I always thought that extending Hav was questionable because, as has been pointed out in the thread, it's not hard to replace ROTs. In fact ROT may be one of the easiest positions to place out of the entire starting 22. There's of course a lot of college OTs every year, and only a small percentage of them can play on the left. .So I thought it would be better to not sign him and move on.

2. He did play well till last year. So now what do you do? You save 5.4 M if you trade him this year v. 2.4 in dead money. But you won't get a high pick for him. So you have to balance this out---do you want 5.4 M in cap space, or do you want another experienced player at a time when you're re-building the OL? If Hav can come back and play effectively again, you can move Evans to guard.

(BTW there is no "After June 1st" difference this year, since there is no CBA yet).

I don't know what I would do, personally. I can see the argument for the cap space, and I can see the argument for keeping him in hopes of him returning to effective form.
