so in the summer of 2018 the rams gave him an extension. this surprised some (myself included) but obviously the rams thought he was playing ok (aka "good"
. he repaid them for that faith with his best season in 2018 and then fell off the map in 2019. this reality seems to correspond pretty closely with his pff grades. obviously this is just 1 measure but why would the rams reward a "struggling" player with an extension? i think its fair to say he played "good" in 2016 and 2017, and i think its fair to belive he has a good chance of playing well again (unless there are issues we dont know about.
2016: 72.2
2017: 71.2
2018: 86.4
2019: 50.9
