We really don't know what his role was. I only know that when directly asked about Brockers' production, VB said the coaches liked him, because while he didn't get flashy stats it's because in that scheme he was asked to do a lot of thankless things. I also know that as a rule if you look around the league not a whole lot of 3/4 DE types have much in the way of sacks. I couldn't even tell you whether he even lined up as a pass rusher in third and long (he was on the field about 160 total defensive snaps less that Donald.)
He was 4th on the team with qb pressures, putting him behind the obvious big 3--Donald, Fowler, Matthews.
