The idea that Gurley's knee cannot "flare up" on its own does not square with the medical profession.

My opinion is not based on "reports" out of the Ram camp. It is based on the medicine as well as my own personal arthritic flare ups following three surgeries due to arthritis in each of my hips and my left shoulder (rotator cuff ). It does come and go often w/o any trauma or even a known irritant. Simply put, arthritic pain in the joints is not stationary.
Its my opinion-from here on out-if Gurley plays 25 or more snaps then his knee is feeling good. If OTOH if he plays a much less amount of plays his knee doesn't feel so good. It will have nothing to do with any planned "usage" of him. Of course if they get so far behind they have to revert to catch up passing attack that would be different.
What we need is an orthopedist or orthopedic surgeon who is a ram fan that could come in and address the issue. We are lay people opining on medical issues that can be complicated for even those in the medical profession. Nevertheless, from my experience and from what I've studied-because of my condition-arthritic pain is a moving target.
