Most of us will suffer from arthritic pain as we age. However, we don't play professional football. Those of us who do suffer well know how painful some days are and some days are not. Steroid shots (cortisone) directly into the arthritic area (joints) can and often do eliminate the pain temporarily-enough I suspect for a player to play an entire game. However, there is a downside, namely that Ortho docs do not want to give repetitive shots especially in close proximity due to some permanent damage that can be done one of which, among others, is the inability to control diabetes. So it won't surprise me if this will be an off and on thing with Gurley. Simply put, he may get a shot and play well. Following week no shot and won't play as much. Same with the following week. Then a shot and plays well once again. This will never be a black or white thing that is predictable.
