Obviously at this point staring at 4 more years and 2 division titles, Goff is our guy regardless of hindsight.
But tell me again why we picked the shot-gun style air raid, skinny as Marc Bulger, not much different skill set than Bradford guy... vs. Bigger, more mobile, played in pro-style system, almost a rothlessberger clone (or dare I say McNair given Fisher was the coach).
Also, Wentz they said had a cannon of an arm.
I mean, the guy should have been the dream QB, especially for Fisher.
I just don't see how you pick Goff. The only fair argument at the time was small school for Wentz.
They both have proven they can play in this league, Wentz, more off his sheer talent and Goff more from the system...and of course his talent amd mental toughness too.
Injuries are a factor with a running QB.
I'm going to say that Wentz was more ready. Goff struggled his first year and Wentz looked like superman before getting injured.
And as for hindsight,I think with Mahommes play last year, perhaps Wentz being more mobile is the better style QB to take in today's NFL.
I think hoping for a Goff type to be a Tom brady clone is less likely than Wentz being a rothlesberger, just more margin for error.
