For example:
Were these two friends? I mean, he was staying in her house, right?
Had they been intimate in the past? Geez, I would feel okay with taking liberties with such a person that I would never dream of taking with a stranger.
Did she object when she awoke? And, if so, did he stop immediately?
As to her motive for pressing charges? You tell me. Maybe she “snapped” and now can’t walk it back? Sure seems like using a sledgehammer for a fly swatter to me, though. Especially if they had previously had any sort of a consensual relationship. IOW, would the possible punishment fit the “crime”? My former sister-in-law was nutty enough to make this whole thing up and then some, frankly. The woman was certifiable.
Not saying Rath is innocent, just saying that this whole thing is probably a bit more nuanced than the original press statement of the charges.
Interestingly, all your "context" is just to find ways to put Rath in a good light. That's not providing "context." That's finding ways to side with Rath. And some of your efforts make no sense. It is not the least bit relevant to a case like this whether or not the pair had been initmate in the past. Unwanted sexual contact is a bad thing regardless of a prior relationship. If you don't believe me, go find an ex and hit on her physically against her will or without her consent. There are reasons the vast majority of us don't do that.
Meanwhile, one of the major issues with sexual assualt--both minor and major--is the tendency to dismiss the victim's complaint. That is so common that cases like this are rarely taken to the police. In fact it is estimated that 3 out of 4 such cases go unreported.
Whose side am I on? No one's. If Rath is found not guilty I doubt he returns to the Rams anyway. Either way, I am just in favor of the justice system working. That's it.
