That 69% number is interesting. In my own little foray into a bit of draft tendency analysis, I came up with the idea that a hit rate of 30% and into the 30s was average, and that good was 40% and into the 40s, while anything at 50% or better was rare and just plain superior.
Maybe my 30% or more hit percentage for average corresponds a bit with their (implied) average hit percentage of 31%?
I agree with your point about unreal expectations. Also, sometimes, some people have what I call black hole trauma memory--one bad thing (eg. Robinson with pick 2) becomes a black hole that sucks in all other things.
