We trade out of the 1st round and get an extra 3rd ... I can't see my edge guys being there at 31 (Sweat is my 4th and I believe he's gone) ... and the next batch is down near 50.
I'm having some issues at safety because of how crazy they are being graded.
3) Elgton Jenkins or Garrett Bradbury ... OC. I want another BIG kid on the interior. One should be there.
7)]Keesean Johnson[/b] Fresno State.
David Long LB West Virginia. 6-0 222 ... why he falls. I don't care. He's got the fastest first step in the draft for a diagnosing LB. I think Lavonte David clone. But he's a tad smaller. ST beast ...
Mark Mclaurin Safety Mississippi state. Again, overlooked ...
1st if Dex Lawrence falls. And the wild card is Jeffery Simmons. He's an all pro that just tore his ACL. If we resign Suh we can afford to redshirt a DT. If not it's gonna be tough to justify.
Thoughts and comments welcome.
Combine raised my interest: Surpise.....ha
Deadpool noted Brian Burns, and his possible combine performance. Watched some tape and what's not to like? He's a super lanky kid, and would probably need to get stronger, but as a situational rusher in year one sure would be fun to watch. Just to add to the mix, Burns is listed as coming off the boards in the first round on some mocks. Wow.
Alyo notes David Long here. Haven't had a chance to check him out: Long has had some remarkable comments around the net and media. He's not listed by all as a LB. He's not huge, and perhaps he's a safety / LB hybrid. This is the type of coveted player Les Snead would have his eyes on. Is he a fit for Wade wants to do, and when. No listed contact that I see by the Rams, but I don't like the 9ers look at him. Ha.
Like that none of the OL noted by our gurus have thus far messed up. Not looking at bench press for record breakers. Just don't want to see guys pass it up or come up that "functionally weak" moment.
I do like Dillard, but so do plenty of other teams. Bradbury, Jenkins, McCoy, and Lindstrom. After sizing up our gurus, and reading this quartet sure looks like a shopping list. I usually have a Badger or an Iowa guy on my watch list. Not so sure about that this year.
It sure appears as of now that the Rams would be willing trade partners to back up a few spots. It may not garner them an extra 3rd, but might start a whole slew of trading around spots to gain an earlier 3rd. And, yeah, I think Dex Lawrence just might be the guy to eye. TBH, the wild moves ahead just might suprise. Perhaps Les drops into the middle of the 2nd after wheeling and dealing and select one of the aforementioned OL
The Free Agency, and Saffold sliding off to another gig would absolutely warrant getting a Lindstrom type. And that would cost a higher pick.
Safety is still a concern for me.
I'm not convinced that the club would be altogether comfy with a rookie safety out there to take Joyner's spot.
The fall of Marvin Tell still is a suprise for me. Not that he hasn't earned that fall. He looked lost, and worse at times.
Liked Thornhill, but changed that after the all stars.
Out of time.........more over the weekend as this event ramps up......
