--- top echelon ... top ten. Odds of them falling to even 15 is low. I know its rare to suggest that, but we're talking about 3 freaks.
Bryant
Polite
Ferguson
Burns
Sweat
That's my next tier. Oddly ... Bryant is listed usually in the 60s area ... which is weird to me ... while Sweat, Polite, and Burns are listed top 20. Soooo, yeah I expect some changes there. So if Bryant jumps a bit with a good combine he could still be available around pick 50. If not Im totally fine with Winovich, who reminds me of Clay Matthews.
Point is? That's 8 rush LBs (there are also big 4-3 edges going in round 1) ... the odds we'd have to trade up for one seems low.
And in the next set
Winovich
De'andre Walker
Christian Miller
Those guys could drop into the 3rd but should definitely be there in the 2nd. I think round 2 is going to be about interior linemen. Lots of teams getting healthy there this year.
I asked the trade up question after doing many simulations in the drafting game. In every simulation there is a run on edges and the last in what you call your next tier - Sweat, Burns and company - are gone by around pick 25. Bryant seems to be listed by most in the next tier with Winovich and others.
Most of the drafting simulations have about 14 DL going in the first 25 picks and about 22-23 defense players going in the first round.
I guess I'm wondering if Snead is going to want one of the top guys as a possible instant starter rather than some of the leftovers in the 2nd and 3rd?
