In terms of was that play a "poor throw"? I think that's badly exaggerated and entirely beside the point. It was good enough to be a TD if not for the especially brilliant play by the Patz DB. The idea that every pass has to be perfect strikes me as just irrelevant. The idea that the DB's play on the pass is not worth mentioning strikes me as just ignoring a key reality.

As Baldinger said in the tweet I posted: "That ball was full of helium and floated."
It was a piss-poor throw. Even with the late read that pass HAS to be a completion for a NFL QB with a clean pocket.
The defender would have had no chance to break it up if its not so high and wobbly.
