the Cooks bomb down the middle that McCourty broke up is much more a kudos to the @Patriots and their coverage disguise (video coming from Get Up this morning) than it was Goff being so late like all think he was. Credit the D on it! #SuperBowl53

Sure, the defensive switch made Goff take a second longer to make the correct read.
BUT: He made the correct read in time to complete the pass IF his throw was technically better.
Throw was too high, not tight enough and he should have led Cooks a little to his left away from the defender.
In essence: Correct read and a better throw results in an easy TD.
Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know. Goes like this. When the Saints complained about the PI non-call, they were told, no game comes down to one play.
When the Rams lose, some, who need to blame somebody, and choose the qb, ignore the fact that the OL broke down and so did the play calling, and the qb faced pressure on 70% of the plays, and pick on one play.
You can go on about it if you like but I just do not take that kind of approach seriously. (Really. I don;t.)
I think maybe it provides some kind of illusion of psychological clarity to put it all on one player and one play, but I don't see a good football argument. You want to win? Arrange it so your qb is under less pressure. That will probably go a long way toward making winning more likely.
I MIGHT listen if someone ever comes up with a list of qbs who DID play well under
that much pressure. But I;m not holding my breath on that. No one ever does come up with that. I wish that the fact that they can't come with examples of that would foster the next step, which is to get that qbs under that much pressure in a game just don't play well. Instead of doing this less than realistic "put it all on one play" number.
