Each game is unique unto itself.
What worked beautifully against the Cowboys won’t necessarily work against the Saints.
For one thing, Brees is infinitely better than Prescott. We can’t sell out against the run against Brees. That would be suicidal.
But that Ram 2 headed running game makes a ton of sense to me. With or without the 12 personnel sets.
Saints secondary might be more vulnerable than their run D. Before the 2 injuries, anyway.
And getting a TOP advantage over the likes of Brees is always a good idea. Mahomes or Brady later, too, for that matter.
McVay is gonna bring all his weapons and tactics vs the Saints. There’s no earthly reason to hold anything back for “next week”. If McVay doesn’t bring the whole load, there may not be a “next week”. A new wrinkle or two might be in the works, too.
I predict that McVay will push and prod with this and that until he finds some success, then he’ll give the Saints a heavy dose of what they most struggle to defend.
Honestly, I’m fairly comfortable with our O vs the Saints. It’s Wade’s D vs Brees that makes me squirm.
