Hopefully McVay and company bring the Rams another Super Bowl ring but Martz will always be the key to the first one IMO. He had his shortcomings, as all coaches do, but I loved his attitude and swagger and how he brought the same qualities out of his players.
I think becoming a HC too soon hurt his career but I also feel like he was sabotaged by his own front office and ownership and if one believes that, I don't see how Martz should be held responsible for the team failures under his watch. All of the negative aspects of that regime were on full display once Martz became HC and it undermined his tenure. Because of his inexperience he needed a strong GM, front office and ownership supporting him and I don't think he had even one of those things.
