Comparisons can be made in 2 areas:
- Comparisons of style, technique, physical characteristics
- Comparisons of achievement
One needs to be clear on which comparison is being made. And very frequently, readers misread what is being said.
Each year, draft prospects are compared to established players. This confusion again kicks in. A comparison to a great player can help characterize the type of prospect being examined while making no promises about achievement.
I guess I just wish readers would have a care in being clear on what is being said.
Goff? He reminds me of Montana very strongly. And I have no idea of how close he will come to approaching Montana's achievement.
