Nice post.
I agree with all but your last paragraph, Rock.
I still believe that when it’s crunch time we will see AD report for this season.
If common sense/reality breaks out in AD’s camp, I see him signing an extension that both sides will call a win-win. It’s just a question of when, IMO. Might be this year, might be ‘19, might be ‘20, heck, might be ‘21. But it will happen. Ball is indefinitely in AD’s court.

He's wrong about stuff on this issue. He's not up on this issue.
It's easy to demonstrate that.
That has nothing to do with HIM one way or another, it's not about the writer, it's about the article.
You are relying on the old "argument from authority" fallacy. Someone recognizable makes a case and the fallacy is to accept it simply because of who made the case. There's a reason that;s called a fallacy.
The simple cure for the argument from authority fallacy is to say, is he right, and if so why.
I will give you an example where he's WRONG. Everyone who discusses this issue, including the Rams, takes Von Miller's
2016 contract as the relevant touchstone for AD. This is the only writer who doesn't get that .
And that's just one mistake he made.
