The writer has a point, not to mention 10 years of experience in negotiating contracts with player/agents.
The offer is reportedly record setting for a D player. The exact numbers are unknown, but regardless of one’s agenda that is a market setter.
So, FA or under contract, how can AD or his agents be insulted by such a beginning negotiating position?
Bottom line is that there is still a difference between what Rams and AD see as his worth.
It’s that simple.
It's exactly what you and I have been saying from the jump..... AD is NOT a FA, not even close, yet some want to try to negotiate for him like he is.
I could care less what Cooks, Gurley, Havs or whomever else they sign to an extension got....obviously their agents were easier to deal with and they excepted the Rams offer. None of those players are demanding QB money.
I really wish the Rams would give AD a deadline...take it or leave it by Aug 30 or it's off the table and we'll see you next year.....sit out if you want, we don't care.
