Not criticizing McVay’s decision in particular, but rather the situation in general.
PS games are currently a ripoff from the fans pov. TV, too, for that matter. The networks deserve a better product to broadcast.
The solution is right under their noses.
Go to only 2 PS games.
Have 18 regular season games.
Put in a second bye week.
Increase rosters to 63.
Increase actives to 55.
Have cutdowns after each PS game, not all at once.
Have scrimmages at least once a week from camp through the 2 PS games. Should be invaluable in evaluating players.
Everybody wins. Young players, coaches, networks, and most importantly, the FANS. You know, the ones that pay the freight ultimately?
If top college teams/coaches can do without 4 exhibition games (yeah, exhibition), then the pros certainly can.
It’s NOT that complicated. If put to a vote, the fans would approve the above overwhelmingly.
