Rampage2K-
I think they saw this coming with this guy and got ahead of the game by signing Suh....yeah it would be great to have them both, but if AD wants to try and leverage the Rams, Suh signing is a stumbling block for Todd France.
Rams WILL WIN without AD..... Dream case scenario of course would be for Donald to sign lucrative contract that doesn't kill our cap and we win Super Bowl this year and many more...but, my second best case scenario is he holds out all year and Rams dominate in 2018 and win Super Bowl....Aaron who???
At this point I'd start trying to get deal done with Peters instead.....
Rp2K, I'm sure you are aware that you aren't the first to speculate that Suh might have been an insurance signing in case AD's agent decided to play hardball again in 2018. I like the way you worded it in your post.
Let's say hypothetically that you are correct and Suh was added to the team for exactly and only 2 reasons.
Reason 1: Pair him up with Donald and have the best Interior D-Line in the NFL with Donald, Brockers and Suh. This greatly increases the Rams chances for contending for a SB Title. Snead-Wade-McVay knew this was an opportunity you don't pass up if it was a possibility .
Reason 2: If reason 1 somehow failed because of AD's contract situation and
Darth Vader agent Todd France (CAA sports) the Rams would at least have a little bit of a consolation prize pairing Suh with Brockers.
I also believe the Rams brass sat down at the round table and speculated about a real possibility that AD's agent wouldn't budge and negotiations could very easily get ugly.
There is no arguing
their (France CAA sports)
ace card. AD won Defensive player of the year without participating in training camp last year or taking one single preseason snap.
Todd France and company will use their ace card along with AD's Hall of Fame track record to make the Rams sweat this out until the last possible second.
If AD was to not report for the first 2 or 3 games but the Rams still go undefeated, trade talks will probably be in the works and this mess will be the talk of NFL network. We all hope it doesn't come to this but I'm preparing for all scenarios until we finally get closure.
September 28, 2015CAA Sports’ acquisition of Five Star Athlete Management had been rumored in the industry for months; reports in July had CAA and France completing the details of the deal. It became official Sept. 18.
