I do not mean they are intentionally overpaying etc. I mean the timing of it. Perhaps AD was the priority but since they could not get it done they moved on and are signing other guys first instead. If they offered AD a great contract and his agent says no then he watches as two of his teammates get great contracts, hopefully AD will question what is going on.
