Couple of things...
1) Stating that paying AD whatever he wants would cripple the Ram roster is an OPINION. One that I don’t necessarily agree with, btw.
2) Stating that every extra million paid to AD is a million that can’t be spent on other needed players is a FACT.
3) You’re greatly underestimating how much of the cap would be consumed by the top players. You stated above that AD, Goff, and 6-7 other players would take up only 60% of the cap. That’s 8-9 top players, man. I’ve posted elsewhere that the top FIVE alone would consume $100 million. You seem to have a blind spot on this aspect for some reason. One can’t have his cake and eat it, too.
On #1, yeah...
On #2, yeah that's a fact. But the significance of that fact boils down to a possibility that they may lose some of those other needed players. That falls under zn's point 1: a belief that 2 (or more) non-Donald players is better than having Donald.
On #3, yeah....The top 5 could likely consume $100M. But the next two could just as likely fit in the remaining $20M. Right now, $10M is the 6th highest salaries on the Rams books. I had already shown this in response to your post. And I got no response back showing that it wasn't possible or reasonable. And not to speak for zn here (b/c he very well may have a blind spot or two, hehe), but sometimes the reason people don't respond - like in your case - or repeat the same thing over and over - like in zn's case - isn't b/c they have a blind spot, it's b/c they disagree.
