Much of the conversation I've seen on the topic of AD's contract seems to be geared towards trying to figure out who's to blame for the current state: are discussions at a standstill because AD is asking to much? Or is it because the Rams aren't offering enough?
What if both sides are in agreement that AD should be the highest paid defensive player in the league and have simply agreed to table their discussion until Mack signs?
I know that AD has to report by Aug 7 to get credit for the 2018 season ... but why can't he report then, begin the year on his existing contract, and then sign an extension after Mack signs?
The voice of reason, AlbaNY. Lol.
Yeah, I believe that there is some middle ground left that would make a win-win extension still possible.
Let’s see if both sides can find it.
But I stand by my first premise in the OP. If AD fails to extend for this year, then he will surely ultimately lose millions more than he can ever recoup by holding out further. And the clock is ticking...
