Wih all due respect, I think that whole argument is just a series of fallacies.

First Goff came out especially green in 2016 as all Air Raid qbs do. Air Raid qbs start out greener than most--and in fact there's a long series of busts with them going back a couple of decades, and the ones who eventually played well never did it in their first year or 2.And the ones who did eventually play decently well in the pros? It is a mere handful. In fact if Mahomes makes it as a pro qb in KC, he will be the 4th out of all of them who even did that much. And Goff had his first year without a running game. Look at last year and ask how much the running game contributed to him breaking through in his 2nd year.

Foles to me proves what he has always proved---he is a very streaky qb who had one good year in a pro spread system. Every other year he has had streaks of very bad play and that includes last year. Fortunately a top offensive coach could take advantage of what in effect was 2 bye weeks to get a good streak out of him in the postseason. Foles was always at his best in the first weeks and after a bye. Meanwhile his long streaks of melted down play is one of the things his 2014, 2015, and 2017 seasons had in common.

Keenum never played well in his pro career UNTIL the Rams but in 2016 faded when it became apparent he had to carry a team without a running game. Fortunately for him he had a good situation with the Vikes, but when he got exposed, with the offense having to put it all on him, he folded then too. The running game is so important to CK that the Vikes made sure they were 2nd in rushing attempts even though they were 23rd in yards per carry.

Other qbs played well for Fisher in the past too.
