Max and I have had many discussions about many things. Sometimes we agree sometimes we don’t but my comments were directed at him.
I think for me it comes down to people forget how low things got with Goff on the field and then perception wise. I preferred Wentz over Goff but when it was Goff I was all in. All last summer I said we don’t know anything. We have to see him play and hadn’t seen nearly enough. That never changed during training camp and preseason when reporters locally and Peter King were saying Goff couldn’t play.
Max even says in the thread I linked that at that point he didn’t need to know that Goff was great. Only if he could be an NFL starter.
So no... there was serious doubt at that point even while it being in true that in the beginning and before Goff was drafted indeed he was Max’s guy.
