Acting like other qbs in the league have to emulate Brady and accept sub-marker contracts? That's not going to reproduce the Patz formula.
The Patz did not win so much because Brady gave them 3-4 M dollar breaks.
They won because it was Brady/Bellichick.
Besides, for all their presumed cap advantage, the Patz still fielded the 29th ranked defense last year---30th against the pass and 20th against the run. So it's not clear they took good advantage of their presumed cap advantage anyway.
All true zn but let's not forget that the Pats play in an overall weaker conference, compared to the NFC, and an even weaker division. I think that has aided them IN ADDITION to what you posted above.
