The NFL is like no other sport with regards to the sheer number of players on a team(63?) that need to be paid.
I agree, I was really struck by Brady's current &past salary...and his willingness to keep it manageable.
Brady's a good businessman and sees his ability to make up the difference with ads and biz revenue.

My friend all quarterbacks understand that. And we like it when they accept less money. Why? I have no idea but I never really believe it's because we poster/fans are superior cap managers.
Meanwhile they won because he is Tom Brady. Not because he gave the Patz a 3-4 M discount. He could have asked for 3-4 M in excess of his market value and they still would have won.
