They won't "consider" that, they'll have no choice.
And 25 M is out of date for a qb's 2nd contract. That was last year. This year it's 28 M, and rising. When Goff and Wentz come up it will be in the 30 -or -more M range. Will that alone end their competitiveness"? I doubt it.
Here are the teams whose qbs get 25 M or more. Tell me which of these teams is no longer competitive:
Vikings, 49ers, Lions, Raiders, Saints.
Raiders with Gruden should be if anything
more competitive,
if Gruden still has it. But that turns on Gruden, not on Carr's contract.
Lions are pretty much always fairly non-competitive. That goes way beyond the qb.
According to your theory, the Saints, 9ers, and Vikings should all fade now. Do you think they are going to?
