Forget the moves post season. I'll give credit to the Rams for trying to change...but it was a self inflicted wound. And while we now have a dynamic duo at the corners, it doesn't come without risk based on the behavior by both individuals they acquired.

But...the initial move to sign Ogletree was ridiculous. We have people who "supposedly" know a third of what the Rams brass know and they all stated Ogletree was not a fit in the Rams 3-4 style. These same people stated he was never a real fit as a ILB. It was obvious to the people on the outside. What in the heck were they thinking on the inside? I would really like to know. I would really hope there was a logical reason to sign him to that deal.

Philips had plenty of time to evaluate Ogletree. So, they sign him in the middle of the season? To what end? They didn't have to sign him. They didn't have to pay, in essence $6 million to get a 4th and 6th pick. Their excuse that it gave them flexibility is perplexing. It was a mistake...an expensive one at that.

I agree with Max. As of now, and the recent past, the Rams have done a poor job of handling contracts. They need to get their act together and do so quickly.

I'm assuming much of this activity is to make room for the long term deal for Donald, and possibly keep Watkins.

If they can't get these guys signed, we are in trouble. We need to know the playing field so that we can strategize for future contracts. Right now, that field has land mines all over it.

Let's hope Donald...and Watkins...are signed, sealed and delivered by the draft.
