max, I value Snead more than you do, and I suspect McVay does as well.
Many of Snead’s trades have been brilliant. Yes a few major whiffs (Robinson, Quick) but many home runs (no need to list them here).
Where I do agree with you is about your skepticism re. Demoff and Pastoors— Pastoors especially. As I understand it, it sounds like Demoff has taken on more work overseeing the stadium, while Pastoors has taken on more responsibility managing the cap.
The Rams track record re. the cap over the past 4 years has been mediocre at best.
I fully trust McVay and Snead to shop for groceries.I just hope that Pastoors is up to the task of finding the right budget to purchase all of those groceries.
There's no reason to scapegoat him. For one thing his job is to team build and that's personnel. He's not a Overlord GM the way Polian was and his vision does not shape everything. These are institutional errors.
In terms of the cap, that isn't up to one guy either. That's collaborative too.
You want to find blame for these particular mistakes it's shared and that includes McVay and Demoff.
