I want Watkins to return of course. But if he gets handed huge money elsewhere Matthews could be a good signing to replace him as WR3. Good size, has been productive. And would cost a fraction. I like Josh Reynolds personally but right now I see him more as a situational WR4 than a guy seeing 35-40 snaps per game.
The one thing to me about Watkins is wondering what his production will be in the Rams offense given Woods and Kupp being entrenched as the primary guys and his own history. Assuming everyone is healthy what would Watkins give them? My guess- something like 50 catches, 750 yards, 7 TDs. Good numbers. But what do you pay for that?
I also believe part of the consideration is that- somehow, some way- McVay wants TEs targeted more going forward.
Well said 93. I agree McVay wants more production form his TE's and will do his best to make that happen. That would maybe make up for losing Sammy. Oh wait.........we haven't really lost him yet, have we? We have lots of "bunched up panties" around here over something that "might" happen. Oh crap...there I go being positive again.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
