with that as the afternoon lead in story; they did a fine job of explaining that Watkins will find better money, elsewhere.
The only thing that was suggested was that if the money were in a range that he might stay in L.A.
Even that was narrowed
One of things that has haunted Sammy is injury. Cost him touches and stats.
Now he's stayed healthy a year
His numbers, as he might see it, were dimmed by a QB that was hailed as a bust prior to the season start.
That while the QB was solving his own issues, and working to establish his own presence, the former Bill was overlooked.
(btw, there's some nice evidence supplied by Jemach that the QB might have missed some opportunities to get the ball to Sammy)
none of this is verbatim
And yet, I thought the radio show guys did a good job of laying out the reasons why a team would go big numbers on Sammy.
btw, Sirius NFL not long after hosted a segment with Jordan Matthews
I am not real familiar with him, but the young man is a good listen, well spoken, and took the place of Sammy, and Robert Woods
Lousy luck for him that he has been injured.
Certainly, not suggesting that he's an answer for the loss of Sammy, but should we suddenly find that McVay and Snead sign him, at least we acquired a kid who has some wits about him.
needless to say, the scenario makes for a downcast moment.
I've said it before, but the new offense is brittle, and to get the sort of production enjoyed in 2017 without "the man with the dreads" will suffer.
Tend to agree with Jemach. It's not a case of may suffer, but will suffer. The depth of suffering to be calculated months from now.
