There is this... all QB's have bad games AND streaks of bad games. I find it difficult to believe there is always one constant reason behind it.
And also... I don't really want to pursue this because it would require restatement... this: "I don't know how anyone can honestly account for those facts and then conclude that Foles melting down in 2015 was solely or even largely due to coaching." Anyone would include me, right? Well.... I never said that... never tried to make a case for it being so and don't wish to because I don't believe. It's cool, we just disagree. - JamesJM
First, EVERYONE would include you. Logically "anyone" is "anyone who concludes that." Anyone is not everyone.
Second, it's not just dismissable streaks of bad games, James. You havent look at his history for a while have you.
It's streaks of REALLY bad games to the point where one coach unloaded him and another benched him and in the interim no one signed him as a starter.
That doesn't happen to all qbs.
And if you look at the numbers for the Rams, when Foles melts down, those games add up to be among the worst on record by a Rams qb, ever. I haven't looked to see if it;s worse than Null, but it was BAD.
So I don;t think it reduces to "all qbs have bad games." No, not like THAT. In fact as I said it's kind of unique in Rams history. I don't know about about Eagles history. What we CAN'T say is that all qbs have streaks of games as bad as Foles's have been when HE melts down.
And what's more 2015 was not the only year it happened.
