I'm sure going to try to enjoy the Rams and the NFL for the next couple of years, because unless something fundamentally changes for the better I think the bargaining for the next CBA is going to be the most acrimonious we've seen, with one side already openly hostile to the other by declaring war ahead of time.

The problem is that polarized and angry is the mood of much of the world, today. So it is baked into the process of trying to come to a "fair" agreement. It has become the Hatfields and the McCoys. The result of such a mood is usually not a sincere search for compromise or fairness; rather it is that there must be a clear winner and a clear loser because there is little to no middle ground.

Not looking forward to this because for me the NFL has been an escape from the realities of the world as it is. Unfortunately, as the player protests tell us, the NFL (and the entertainment industry in general) is no longer an escape but rather a stark reflection and reminder of the division that has gripped not just American society but the entire globe.
