Quinn got injured. So the only caution in his tale is, sometimes guys get injured. Unless you believe that every player who signs an extension with the Rams will get injured.
In terms of penny pinching Donald, I would never do that to a team. You want to build good morale on a team but then you kill it by telling the entire roster you wont' pay your best player. So it's like "work hard and the Rams will...penny pinch you." Besides I want Donald for 6 more years, not 3. I don't like the idea of alienating and throwing away one of their historically best players.
And besides why do you care how Stan spends his share of NFL tv contract revenue?
