an interesting division of money

I am no cap guy
But some of this does play for me

19M to Donald
that gets him started

11M to Watkins makes some sense
It taller than many here would like to see. I keep seeing the kid open downfield. Whether that really makes him open, and available doesn't calculate out all time?

I have no dog in the fight to pull in Graham but the sting of losing their receiver, is by its own definition a big plus for the Rams

Not sure losing Barwin is a high priority for Wade. Guessing they'd like to get one more year out of him.

While I think trading back in the 1st round would be valuable, I don't see it happening.
Really liked what I saw of some of the big conferences players this year: particularly on defense

If we can retain all these guys you mention, and keep Watkins, and add an OL, and Graham? Plus a nice windfall of money for Donald
I'd celebrate

CAP SPACE $46.3M

CUTS
$13.0M - Robert Quinn. Too expensive and downside of career.
$03.0M - Tavon Austin. Not even used when the games counted.

SIGN
-$8.0M (Jimmy Graham) Another weapon for Goff and addt'l vet presence for offense.
-$10.0M (Nate Solder) Played both RT and LT. Can start at RT then take over at LT when Whit retires.
-$11.0M (Sammy Watkins) Deep threat this offense needs. Will even have better production when chem with Goff improves.

-$19.0M - Aaron Donald extension.
$06.9M - Aaron Donald old contract off the books.

Spend around -$16.0M total for these guys.
- Malcom Brown, John Sullivan, Cornelius Lucas, Jake McQuaide
- Dominic Easley, Tyrunn Walker, Matt Longacre
- LaMarcus Joyner, Nickell Robey-Coleman, Troy Hill

That still leaves close to $06.0M for rookies and other signings.

For draft, I would trade down to get an extra 3rd. Quinn, Barwin and Trujo are out so for my first 3 picks I'm targeting two OLB's and a CB. I would target Harold Landry early second and Marcell Frazier with one of my 3rd's.

Super Bowl here we come!

Go Rams!

Forget Jimmy Graham. Too much money, wrong type of TE.
