Well to be fair they don't do that in reality. They do that in contrast to reality.
It's an issue, I think, with how you phrase it. (Not YOU you, the "everyone" you.) So when I think about it, I put it this way---The Rams are 11-11 with Goff starting.
The idea is that of course you want a good starting caliber qb as opposed to a bad qb or a perpetual #2 caliber qb, and a good one helps your chances, and you probably win more with one (all other things being equal), but at the same time, we all know the win doesn;t just go to the qb alone
