It's something everyone has wanted to see all year. He should have had a game winner against the Seahawks, but for Kupp's drop. Because of that drop....many forget the great passes to Higbee, then Woods to set up the attempt to Kupp. He had a great drive in the fourth quarter at Dallas to get a field goal to extend the lead and force the Cowboys to get a touchdown in their last possession.
We all know he disappointed by getting strip-sacked late in the game against Philly. We also know he could have done better in the final possession against the Redskins.
But against the Titans, he is facing the possibility of the division slipping away and forcing the Rams to having to beat the Niners at home. Because of the long pass interference, people seem to dismiss this as a quality drive. If there was no interference, and Kupp makes a leaping clutch catch.....Goff would get heaping praise for that being a season-saving clutch drive.
Goff is becoming a gamer. Because the Rams have had so many blowout wins....he hasn't been called on to rescue the team with a game winning drive.
So remember. Playoffs potentially on the line....on the road against a probable playoff team. Goff lead the offense downfield and threw the perfect game winning TD pass in the fourth quarter.
That early in the 4th, it's taking the lead, not a comeback. So yes it is a lead-changing drive early in the 4th that included a great clutch throw and a great clutch TD catch. On 3rd and 6 no less. Everyone deserves their praise for that one.
Comebacks are at least halfway through the quarter, though, because they include tight time constraints. You have to drive and score knowing you likely will not get the ball again...or at least you can't count on getting it back. It's now or never.
After the Rams went up by 4 on that drive at about 3 minutes into the quarter, Titans got the ball 3 more times and the Rams got it 2 more times. So they took the lead early in the 4th on that play and held it through the quarter. But it;s not really a comeback.
