This is just my opinion and I'm not trying to change anybody else's.
Fisher can be described in one word: Average.
6 winning records in 22 years of coaching is a fact and cannot be denied, 'circumstances' and all.
Well I've never seen anyone deny the numbers. No-one is saying it was 7 out of 22 or 3 out of 22, etc.
But how do you explain that great Titan team in 99? I'm not arguing here, just genuinely interested. How do we explain that great team? I mean they came off the mat in the second half and played Fisher-ball and just crammed it down the GSOT's throat.
Eddie George and McNair and that OLine and that defense were so mentally-tough, and physical. Fisher-ball. And it worked.
And this wasnt the 70's. It worked against the GSOT.
So how do we account for that?
Just seems to me, Fisher had to have been a pretty "good coach" to have built that. And there were four or five other seasons like that.
But then there's all those other mediocre seasons. The 6 out of 22 thing you mentioned. That part is true too.
So how does one account for those two Fishers?
zn thinks its cap trouble at times mixed with moves, mixed with key injuries.
Others think Fisher is an idiot.
I dunno.
....but aint it great to NOW be arguing about whether McV and Wade will make the Hall of Fame this year... or next year?
