IMO the RAMS are the story, it looks to me the media (as it does in all areas they touch) tries to make a narrative towards their wants and wishes instead of going with known, proven facts. The RAMS are making a move....why not run with that ....what they are doing is fact....why bring in a team to be like them when they do not exist? Why try to bring in a fictitious team and talk about them?
IMO this is just a media deal to bring into light a team they would like to become RAM-like in the future.....NO proof, no knowledge...simply a wish written to look like information.....
The RAMS are the story...the media is trying to expand what the RAMS are doing to a team they would love to be just what the RAMS are doing....No different then when a teams QB goes down as sure as the sun comes up the next day the media demands that they pick up Kap.....it's their want and they print that as though it is a needed move...it must be done....They are not reporting news they are just stating wants.....Same with this SF becoming a force (team of the future) like the RAMS are doing in 2017 type statements.....
It's one writer. It's not "the media."
And he offers a view I happen to agree with...namely, that while it's not showing up in the wins column yet, Shanahan is also a good coaching hire. He just doesn't have a team yet.
That takes nothing away from McVay.
And the reason other coaches come up is because the article is about the NFC West.
There's plenty of articles just about McVay if you need that particularly.
