I honestly don't know what it is. Even with the time he missed in OTAs and camp if he was useful at doing something downfield I think he'd be doing it by now. I think they simply can't justify playing him above much more talented players in Watkins, Woods and Kupp in this offense. And Cooper, Thomas and/or Reynolds might be nipping at his heels.

He's had some really good moments as a receiver- vs. IND his rookie year, vs. ARZ in 2015, vs. TB last year, etc. But that's what they are, moments. Is it mental? A work ethic issue? Just athletic shortcomings? Who knows. But they're thankfully in a position now where it doesn't really matter. He's their 7th or 8th best option in the passing game. But he's their 2nd best option in the running game. So, use him there.

He was always a mediocre- at best- punt returner and now he's unreliable there so that's out too. McVay has to be kicking himself for rewarding TA after the TD run and putting him back there again. A coaching lesson learned.
