wouldnt be an issue.......his huge salary could go to others
just too much for someone who is a decoy, runs the ball 4-6 times a game and catches 1-2 passes
be awesome if he was a 4th rounder doing that. One ball, with too many other players like Gurley, Woods, Kupp and Watkins....Higbee is coming around and Everett and Reynolds will be........how many touches can he get?
I don't care what he's paid...at all. I think that's armchair gm stuff.
I will say that he was paid to be what he was in 2015--a productive guy, 9 TDs on offense, who is a multiple run/catch weapon.
And it's not his fault coaches can't figure out that's how you use him.
So they tried to make him a pure receiver in 2016. Wrong.
And they use him as a back-up RB in 2017. Wrong.
It's clear as day and right in front of us. Use him like 2015.
And I might add that there's three offensive skill guys in the league who are paid in the same contract range (10 M a year) and they all have had at least 9 or more TDs in one season (Randall Cobb and Allen Hurns).
People like to argue about Austin for some reason but it never strikes me as being all that illuminating. Play him like in 2015 and he produces. Don't and he can't produce at the same level, but then that's on the coaches who don't play him like in 2015. That's the only part of any of this that interests me.
