No need to mischaracterize the argument

It’s actually an insult to the contributions of so many others on O. Unintentionally disrespectful, IMO.

Check out Tavon’s stats for this season. [www.espn.com]

Two catches on 5 targets for a total of 5 yards.

Ten PR for a total of 53 yards. Including 2 muffs leading to points for opponents (almost had a 3rd).

One KOR for 13 yards.

Fourteen rushes for 81 yards, a 5.8 average. Longest was 14 yards.

Those are the facts. Yeah, he had a good rushing game vs Cowboys. He gained 48 yards on 6 rushes. Attaboy, Tavon. Take a bow.

So now some say we wouldn’t have won the game without him? Seriously?

Fine efforts by the following would have been wasted, otherwise?

Goff
Gurley
Kupp
Higbee
Entire OL
Hekker
Zuerlein
Second half adjustments by Wade
Second half execution by D

Oh, no. All would have been for naught but for Tavon’s 6 rushes.

All due respect, but that’s bullfeathers.

Tavon’s contributions are similar to a hood ornament on an Abrams tank. Lol.

Some of us think the insistence by some - most notably, YOU - on characterizing TA's contribution only in terms of his own stats grossly understates his impact. When he's in the game the Rams offense is better WHETHER IR NOT HE GETS THE BALL. You can disagree with the argument, but at least acknowledge it. When TA is presented as a threat Gurley has more roommate run. My eyes say that, TGIII's ypc averages say that, and the defense's reactions make sense of that. I'm sure you've seen the breakdown on how TA's motion shifted the defense, creating space for Gurley to get open and score on that 53-yd catch and score. That's just the most consequential example of TA's effect even when he doesn't get the ball. To reduce his impact to 6-48 is just disingenuous.

Finally, no one is denying the impact of those other factors in the win. The game was close. Very close. In close games the outcomes hinges on any number of things. I don't think it's hyperbolic to think that without TA's performance the Rams lose. That doesn't mean his was more consequential than Gurley's, or the D'd second half performance, or the Leg's, or the OL's, etc. It just means he contributed meaningfully to the win and the game could easily have gone the other way otherwise.
